Holy Day of kinda-sorta-come-if-you-like-since-it-is-encouraged-obligation

I spent a lot of phone time at work yesterday explaining why there were no extra Masses besides our usual week-day A.M. schedule. The added fun was that I could also explain that for All Souls day our usual schedule was in place and that the special All Souls Mass would be on Wed. November 3. Some committee decided that there would be too much competition with the election. If all this was hard enough to explain to Catholic callers, it was no small task to leave reminders and explanations (starting on Friday) for our non-Catholic night phone people.
