Rick just let me know that the thoracic surgeon called to say that the PET scan was negative, no need to surgerize at this time, just do another CAT scan in 3 months to make sure everything is still OK. Praise God.

(And now I don't have to feel so guilty about nagging him to tighten the garbage disposal over the week-end. If the news had been bad, I would have felt like slime to think that I would have badgered a man with maybe one foot in the grave into doing some light - yet unpleasant - plumbing work. Of course, now that we know he's OK, let me say that the drip under the sink started before his respiratory problems did and if he wasn't such a procrastinator it never would have come to this....)
