Our local Fox affiliate is having a Fix That Ugly Kitchen contest. That would solve my problems. No more worrying about washing the smeary cabinetry, degreasing the range hood, washing the floor..........Just rip it out and start over clean.
I fear the winner will be someone with a Brady Bunch era orange kitchen. Under the chaos, my kitchen is too tasteful.
The family just isn’t taking the hint that I need more help. The Blanche duBois pleas of, “don’t turn on the overhead light,” are falling on deaf ears. But the grim glare of three 75 watt bulbs doesn’t call attention to the remedial work that is needed. (I’ve tried unscrewing the bulbs - easier than washing the cabinets - but most family members have caught on to that scam.)
