can’t wait ‘til Tuesday
So tired of election propaganda. Four more days........
Tonight I heard the worst. This was a negative ad against someone I would not vote for, but the ad offended me anyway. What sticks in my mind is this line: There is so much we don’t know about xxxxxx.........She is a scandal waiting to happen.
Pardon me, but in an imperfect, sinful world, aren’t we all to some degree scandals waiting to happen? Some more than others. But as a reason not to vote for someone this is pretty lame.

for example, some interesting thoughts from Patrick Madrid, I TOLD MYSELF I'D NEVER DO THIS . . .
Like many of us, he finds the word ‘blog’ to be unattractive:
First: I don't like the word "blog." It's ugly and redolent with unpleasant images of stepping in something warm and squishy. My dislike for the word grows each time I am forced to use it, such as here in this, my first (gag) blog. But I don't have any good ideas for an alternative term -- not that it would matter anyway, since everyone is comfy with "blog" already -- so I'll just go with the flow.
And some of what he has read has been less than pleasing to him:
Some of what's out there on the Catholic blogs I've visited in recent months is pretty good. Some of it is great. But a sizeable amount of what I've seen so far is, frankly, pretentious spewage. Sorry to be so blunt, but that's what it is. Unfortunately, some of the pretentious spewage takes the form of childish and, at times, vitriolic, temper tantrums about the real and perceived faults of others. Those weblogs amount to nothing more than the steady drip, drip, drip of an unchecked ego.
oooh, vitriolic pretentious spewage...........maybe it is better that my archives just float out there in space for a while.
