This is what I thought of when my sister called to relay the week-end's power surge excitement. Probably something to do with a gopher gnawing on the electrical supply to her home. Very funny. Well, it's funny now. Now that we know no one was hurt and the insurance will take care of all the fried appliances. Aunt Karen's homemaking hint for this week:
If the TV turns itself on and off, your lights become incredibly bright and then very dim and then flames shoot out of the television, GET OUT OF THE HOUSE.
