Home is the place where, when you have to go there,
They have to take you in.
And arrange for a de-skunking bath.
So much for a quiet week-end. (And I didn’t even have to do the de-skunking.)
But I did finish The Professor and The Madman (never knew that the OED was so exciting) and made it half-way through The Birth of Venus, which, despite being something of a bodice-ripper with artistic pretentions, did keep me reading. I could stop at any time... it’s a library book so I’m out nothing but time if I pack it in. But Antonia Fraser said it was simply amazing...I’m simply amazed. That I keep reading.
