And the C stands for...
cheap.
Now we now the meaning of C in OCP.
I thought it was strange enough that the last shipment of missalettes (Holy Week-Pentecost) was sent media mail and schlepped to the rectory door in 8 weighty boxes by our postal carrier.
Yesterday the June 6-Feast of Christ the King edition arrived. By mail. Shrink-wrapped in bundles of 75. (The less than delighted postal carrier didn't wait for us to find a dolly....he just schlepped them up to the doorway and dropped them.)
Yes, yes. Boxes are expensive and we must try to save the trees. But since we're already creating quite a bit of recycling by hauling away the missalettes 3 times a year, couldn't we have some boxes to facilitate the hauling process? (I have been present for several 'styles' of missalette changing.....ranging from my children being conscripted to do the job in under an hour and a half and leave the church ready for a wedding - to - the priest at Saturday morning Mass asking everyone to change a couple of pews. No matter how you do it, there is a bit of confusion and mess. I can just imagine the fun it will be to do this with no boxes to hold the decommissioned missalettes. Better starting stockpiling spare boxes now.....)
