My hip feels better....
I had a slight set back when the X-ray results were in. The arthritis in my left hip has gone from moderate to severe. But the drug samples the nurse practitioner gave me have helped. I think. Or it could just be a placebo effect from having something new in a glitzy blister pack. Tomorrow I can call and tell her that I won’t be following through with the prescription. A two-week course costs just $111. And this is something she wanted me to try as a maintenance drug? The pharmacist told Rick that he hasn’t had a single insurance company pay for it, no matter how he tried to put through the virtual paperwork. So what I want to tell the nurse practioner is, “I feel good. But not $111 worth of good.”

We can’t afford Mama’s hip pills so I guess we’ll have to....
Fran was sympathetic to my hip problems. She said they see a lot of dogs with degenerative joint disease. I asked her what the vet does. She offered:
Glucosamine, anti-inflammatories and, if all else fails, euthanasia. I’m glad I’m not a dog....
