Why don't I just turn to The Weather Channel?
Innocently turning on the local FOX affiliate to get the weather word for the day, I am assaulted by Tim Unsworth rambling about The Passion. Talking about the way Jesus Christ Superstar made his wife weep for weeks and that The Passion couldn’t hold a candle to that. (That pegs his spiritual development pretty well. Mod, groovy, early ‘70’s. Yeah, I was one of those high-school kids who spent a few ‘party’ nights listening to JCSS. But I grew out of it. Now it looks to me as one of the nadirs of Christian musical expression. Not the greatest moment in modern musical theater, either.)

So........anyway. He’s rambling on about gratuitous violence and all the personal issues the Mel has brought to the movie. And, by the way, there is no longer a purgatory. Guess I was out to lunch when that happened, Tim. I joke. But it’s to cover my rage. There are people who actually believe what they hear on the tube. Tim Unsworth - Catholic Expert - says there is no purgatory. It must be true! Gag me with a spoon....
