R.I.P.
Twice former U.S. Olympic hockey coach Herb Brooks.
He played hockey at the University of Minnesota and then coached the school for seven seasons (1972-79) before taking over as national team coach. He was named to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 1990.
Rick was sad to hear this news. Back in his days at the University of Minnesota he served as some sort of equipment manager (I said 'water boy,' which he didn't think was funny.) while Herb Brooks was coach. You should have seen how proud he was when Brooks coached the Olympic team to victory. One would have thought he had actually skated on his team. Which is a physical impossibility due to weak ankles and knees more or less destroyed by high-school football.
