Let’s Talk Provenance

A classic Victorian exterior sets the tone for this impressive 19th century Queen Anne. Completely renovated, the interior is meticulously appointed with oak flooring, crown moldings, indirect lighting, and three fireplaces.
Numerous porch doors enable one to take in the superb views of the lake and English gardens.
Comprising over five thousand square feet of living space, the home offers five bedrooms and four full baths plus a powder room, a sunroom and an English basement.

I hardly recognize this place from the online description.

Eddie was born in this house. I think it looked more charming when it was meticulously appointed with children hanging off the porches, the gardens were American and the only year-round heated pool was called the bathtub.

And what in the world is an English basement?
